The Queen's Quartet: A Bridgerton-inspired concert
Fundraising is a full time endeavor. And matching events with the culture of the Symphony can always be a challenge. However we have found a perfect match. A similar style concert was performed last year at the Kindardine Music Festival and was a completely sold out.
This unique concert using classical string instruments to perform modern pop music was organized by cellist Thomas Beard. Beard is no stranger to our area. He grew up in Huron County and has very familiar with the Georgian Bay Symphony. He is excited about bring this Bridgerton inspired concert to Owen Sound to help raise funds for the orchestra.
Enjoy a concert of Bridgerton-inspired pop music arranged for string quartet, including some of the original arrangements from the Netflix series! Whether you’re a fan of the series or have never seen it, this concert has something for everyone - featuring pieces by Taylor Swift, Maroon 5, Billie Eilish, Madonna, Ariana Grande, Shawn Mendes and many more, this is a concert the whole family can enjoy!
Thomas Beard & friends String Quartet is composed of young professional musicians in the Montreal music scene, including local Huron county cellist Thomas Beard, who has had the privilege of playing with the Georgian Bay Symphony on a couple occasions. They are looking forward to sharing this program with all of you and to help raise money for the symphony and all its activities.
We are also excited about have Tony & Diana Ersser from the Canadian Tire in Owen Sound on board as a sponsor.
