Fundraising Through Wine

Over the past year the Symphony and Henry of Pelham have partnered in a very successful fundraiser. With Covid restrictions starting in March of 2020 the Symphony was not able to host its Annual Vintners’ Dinner & Wine Auction. This was a significant loss of fundraising income.

Henry of Pelham, a winery that at been featured several times at the Vintners’ Dinner, had a ready-made solution with the selling of cases of specially selected wine. The Symphony would organize the sale of these cases and arrange for a central drop off for the wine. In return the orchestra would receive a percentage of the sales.

The Symphony is now on its fourth wine sale. And it has to be noted that The Milk Maid in downtown Owen Sound has been an invaluable partner in this by the pickup location for the cases of wine.

With Easter on its way this is a great time to celebrate with great Ontario wines. This wine sale features three Speck Family Reserve wines “that come from the highest expression of our specific vineyards' terroir”. Included in the case is a bottle each of Cuvée Catharine Rosé Brut, Speck Family Reserve Chardonnay, and Speck Family Reserve Baco Noir. Along with that is a special wine stopper and a GBS 6-bottle cotton wine tote.

Each case can be purchases online for $95 using the code GBS. The sale ends on Friday April 1. A notification email will be sent out once the wine is ready for pick up, the following week, at The Milk Maid.
